ABOUT MDA SUMMER CAMP
Volunteering at Summer Camp--
One of the most anticipated volunteering events offered with UCSD MDA is the MDA Summer Camp hosted every summer. During the MDA Summer Camp, UCSD students volunteer as camp counselors at a week-long overnight camp hosted by the Muscular Dystrophy Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Each camp counselor is assigned to one camper with muscular dystrophy and is responsible to help their camper with their medical and daily needs, as well as ensure that their camper has a fun week at camp. Volunteering as a camp counselor at MDA Summer Camp is a life changing experience that gives you hands-on experience with interacting with children with disabilities. Summer Camp offers an amazing and fun time for both the campers and the volunteers. After your first year of volunteering, you will want to volunteer at camp every year after.
Our Goal as MDA@UCSD
To increase student involvement in the MDA community, raise awareness of MDA, as well as educate members about the disorders covered under MDA.
